Why We Invested in HelloPrenup

We are excited to announce our investment in HelloPrenup, a company modernizing one of the most misunderstood aspects of marriage: the prenuptial agreement. While countless tools have emerged to streamline the wedding planning process, few have addressed the legal and financial conversations that set the foundation for a healthy, transparent partnership. HelloPrenup is changing that by bringing accessibility, clarity, and empathy to an outdated system.
The idea for HelloPrenup was born out of firsthand frustration. Founder and CEO Julia Rodgers, a family law attorney, had seen too many couples delay or avoid prenups altogether not because they didn’t want one, but because the process was intimidating, expensive, and adversarial. She saw couples struggle to balance emotional intimacy with legal responsibility. For many, the cost of hiring two attorneys felt out of reach, and the idea of “negotiating” with a future spouse felt like the opposite of love.
Julia knew there had to be a better way. She envisioned a platform where couples could collaborate on a prenup on their own time, without pressure, and at a fraction of the cost. That vision came to life in HelloPrenup: the first platform that empowers couples to create prenuptial agreements online, with speed, simplicity, and confidence.
HelloPrenup walks users through a comprehensive, guided questionnaire that covers everything from asset division and debt allocation to spousal support and financial disclosures. It provides education along the way, so couples aren’t just filling out a form, they’re learning and communicating with each other. Once complete, the software generates a personalized, state-specific prenup that reflects the couple’s mutual values and goals. Optional attorney review services bridge the gap for those who want an extra layer of assurance.
This is legaltech at its best: not just digitizing an analog process but transforming the experience entirely.
In a world where over 40% of first marriages and over 60% of second marriages end in divorce, and where millennials are waiting longer to marry with more assets (and debt) than ever before, prenuptial agreements are no longer taboo, they’re practical. But the legal system hasn’t evolved to meet this reality. HelloPrenup is filling that gap with a platform that’s not only timely, but deeply aligned with how the next generation communicates, plans, and partners.
At The LegalTech Fund, we invest in companies that are redefining how legal services are delivered, especially those that make the law more accessible, understandable, and human. HelloPrenup embodies this mission. By taking something as fraught as a prenup and turning it into a collaborative, empowering experience, Julia and her team are reshaping the way couples talk about money, commitment, and the future.
We’re proud to support HelloPrenup as they bring this much-needed change to the legal industry and to relationships everywhere.
Welcome to The LegalTech Fund family, HelloPrenup!
