• The cost of a stolen face: As AI makes it easier to steal a person's likeness, Tennessee passed a law making it illegal to share or threaten to share deepfakes.

• California becomes the first state to regulate AI companion chatbots: Law SB 243 mandates that companies implement age verification, issue warnings, and clearly state that interactions are AI-generated. 

• New York court system sets rules for AI use: It is limited to approved products and AI training is mandated for judges and staff.

• Legal fee sharing banned: California's Governor signed laws banning legal fee sharing with non-lawyer firms, regulating attorney advertising, and altering jury selection rules.
