  • 🎉 Newcode raised $13.5M Series A led by OnDean Forward, with The LegalTech Fund, Rel Labs, Antiportfolio Ventures and existing investors participating. Total funding hit $20M. The company helps law firms build their own agents and workflows around firm data.

  • 🎉 Wexler was acquired by Legora, bringing its fact-extraction technology for litigation and investigations into Legora's platform. It's Legora's fifth acquisition of 2026.

 +$25MM

  • Vals AI raised $40M Series A at a $400M valuation, led by a16z. The company runs independent evaluations of how AI models perform on real world professional tasks.

 $5MM-$25MM

  • Aloi raised €6.1M from an undisclosed European VC and existing investors. The Stockholm-based company helps law firms use their internal knowledge and data, with plans to expand into the US.

  • Twin1 AI emerged from stealth with $20M Seed, co-led by Bessemer Venture Partners, Tribeca Venture Partners and Aramco Ventures. Its platform builds AI digital twins that capture and scale professionals' expertise.

 <$5MM

  • Discernis raised $2.5M Seed, led by Newfund Capital with Triple Impact Capital, Remarkable Ventures and C2 Ventures. The New York company helps litigation teams review large document sets while keeping sensitive data on their own infrastructure.

  • Aavalynx raised €1.75M pre-seed, led by Omega Ventures with Two Ravens and angel investors. Its Sisu platform helps legal teams assess and manage disputes.

  • NYAI raised $1.5M Seed from Indian family offices and angel investors. The Pune-based company builds AI tools for legal research, drafting and compliance under Indian law.

  • Payload secured an undisclosed strategic investment from Fifth Third. The Cincinnati company provides embedded payments infrastructure for software platforms across legal, real estate and other professional services.

  • Athena launched with backing from a16z Speedrun, amount undisclosed. The AI-enabled law firm uses fixed fees and its own technology to handle M&A, venture capital and commercial real estate work.

  • VisaDoc secured a six-figure investment from NPIF II Equity Finance, managed by Mercia Ventures. The UK company automates business visa applications across more than 190 destinations.


Mergers & Acquisitions


  • BigHand acquired UK legal AI pricing company Ayora, building on a partnership announced earlier this year. Ayora's technology joins BigHand's Matter Pricing product first, with wider integration to follow.

  • Anaqua acquired Unified Patents, adding patent risk and litigation prevention to its IP management offering.

  • Elevate acquired legal project management platform Lupl, adding matter management and workflow tools that already integrate with Claude, Harvey and Copilot.
